Privacy Policy
Updated October 9, 2026
This policy explains how Puzzle IT handles information when you use the app. Puzzle IT is for people 21 or older. For privacy questions or requests, contact sgrid.caps@gmail.com.
Information we handle
- Account and profile: your account ID, guest status, friend code and display name. New accounts use a display name and a private sign-in credential stored on your device. Older email-based accounts may also have an email address and sign-in credentials. Firebase Authentication processes sign-in credentials.
- Photo choices and older account records: your photo-viewing preferences. Older accounts may have a previously supplied age answer, confirmation time and eligibility status, historical photo-terms choices, self-reported country/history and eligibility dates derived from a birthday supplied in an earlier app version.
- Optional photos and social features: photos you choose, puzzle titles and hints, friend connections, team membership, notes, reports and blocks.
- App use: puzzle progress and completions, tokens, unlocked content and preferences; screen visits, puzzle activity, sharing activity and ad interactions.
- Technical information: notification tokens, app and device information, installation and advertising identifiers, IP addresses, approximate location inferred by advertising or analytics services, and diagnostics.
Guest profiles also have an account ID and saved app data. Choosing a display name and using personal-photo features are optional.
How information is used
We use information to provide accounts, puzzles, saved progress, friend and team features and notifications; respect photo-access restrictions and your choices; screen content, handle reports and prevent abuse; understand app use and performance; and provide advertising on eligible screens. Private photos, photo-safety classifications and photo-viewing preferences are not supplied as ad-targeting parameters.
Photos and recipients
Photos used in personal-photo features are uploaded to Firebase storage and processed with Google Cloud Vision for automated safety screening. We store screening results, image hashes, ownership and delivery information. Authorized reviewers may access reported or flagged content to address safety concerns.
Your selected recipients and team participants can receive the puzzles you share. Profile identifiers are visible through social features. Recipients may save, copy or redistribute photos; account deletion cannot recall copies held outside Puzzle IT.
Service providers, analytics and ads
Puzzle IT uses Google Firebase for authentication, storage, databases, backend functions, notifications and app integrity checks; Google Cloud Vision for photo screening; Google Analytics for usage measurement; and Google Mobile Ads for advertising. These services process information needed for their functions, including identifiers, IP addresses, interactions and diagnostic information. Mobile Ads may share information for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention.
See Firebase privacy information, Cloud Vision data usage, Mobile Ads data handling and Google's Privacy Policy.
Retention and deletion
Account and feature data are kept while needed to provide the service. Account deletion removes your authentication account, profile and associated app data, with media cleanup removing service copies of your puzzle photos. Reports, safety decisions, audit records and related identifiers or image hashes may be retained when necessary for abuse prevention, incident response or legal obligations. Service providers also have their own retention and deletion processes.
To delete your account, open Profile, open the menu's Settings, expand Account, choose Delete Account and confirm Delete Forever. You can also request deletion outside the app. See account deletion instructions.
Uninstalling the app does not delete the server account. Guest profiles and new display-name accounts rely on private credentials held on your device. Uninstalling, clearing app data or losing the device can make those profiles inaccessible. Creating a display-name account from your current guest profile preserves its identity and saved data on this device. A display name alone cannot restore a lost profile.
Security and contact
Connections to our backend and Google services use encryption in transit. Access controls limit account and private-photo access. Contact sgrid.caps@gmail.com for a privacy request. We may need to verify account ownership before acting on a request. Do not email passwords or private photos.
